UMass RSOs Out in Full Force
This past Tuesday, October 25th, marked the three week point of classes at the University of Massachusetts. The semester has really come under way at this point and if you’re looking for a way to get involved – you can find suggestions here. Along with posting the occasional article about UMass life, I also sit on the executive board of the National Society of Leadership and Success. What is this National Society of Leadership and Success, you say? A fine question! The NSLS is an organization that boasts a member-base of more than 600 students. It’s a way to develop your communication skills, get involved and give back to your local community, and maybe, just maybe meet a few cool people.
So, what’s coming up on the agenda for the NSLS this semester? Settle in and take a look.
UMass Cold Spring Orchard Apple Drive
Most every year, the superintendents at the UMass Cold Spring Orchard make countless donations to organizations in the surrounding communities. Some of the recipients of recent years have included the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, American Red Cross, Lions Club, a number of UMass organizations, and many, many more. This year, the National Society of Leadership and Success will provide a team of volunteers to lend a hand collecting the fall crop and organizing it for a large-scale donation sometime in mid-October. So, if you’re looking for a chance to hone your apple picking skills, as well as make a few friends, get in touch!
The National Society of Leadership and Success will hold a General Info Session on Thursday, September 27 at 6 PM
The meeting will be held in Rm. 174 of the Campus Center
